darkness fell
with the mountain rain
stretching out
my legs become the
gathering river’s flow
夕闇にまぎれて村に近づけば盗賊のごとくわれは華やぐ 『子午線の繭』
approaching
my village in darkness
thrills me
with the excitement
of a thief
暗道のわれの歩にまつはれる蛍ありわれはいかなる河か 『子午線の繭』
these fireflies
gathering round my legs
on the darkened path
What sort of river
do they think I am?
銀河系そらのまほらを堕ちつづく夏の雫にわれはなりてむ 『樹下集』
wishing I were
a drop of summer dew
forever falling
